What does this case study show?
Seaside64 wanted to develop its existing newsletters with more relevant content and automation. The work combined regular delivery, segmentation and shared planning. Moritz Molt reports more personal newsletters and more capacity in the team; the interview does not specify a consistent measurement period or comparison metric. Consider quality and time saved separately.
The problem
Seaside64 already sent newsletters but was only using part of email marketing’s potential. Moritz Molt explains that the team knew about automation but had not implemented it on this scale. Delivering such a comprehensive programme in-house would have been difficult.
Our solution
The service combined newsletters with automations and customer segmentation. Messages were tailored to each customer’s situation. Regular conversations provided a shared view of progress while the agency handled day-to-day delivery.
The result
Moritz Molt reports better-quality newsletters, positive revenue development after sending and responses to more personal communications. The team could also delegate much of the delivery. The report does not give a consistent metric or a defined measurement period.
What this means for your email marketing
A recognisable brand, clear content and an intuitive reading experience work together. Our Guide to newsletter design explains what to consider in structure, copy and design. More email design examples can be found in our campaign gallery.
Consider more personalised newsletters and workload reduction separately
Moritz Molt describes the quality of the newsletters, a more personalised approach and the reduced workload for the team. The report also highlights positive sales trends following the newsletter’s dispatch. A detailed dispatch sequence, specific segmentation criteria and a standardised measurement period are not published here. The statements provide insight into the customer experience without attributing it to any single design change.
For an in-house project, two distinct objectives can be formulated from this: messages should be tailored to the recipients’ circumstances; at the same time, the ongoing implementation must be reliably organised for the team. Whether these objectives are achieved can be verified through transparent approvals, in-house test emails and agreed-upon evaluations.
From the customer’s situation to the right content
A new sign-up, a first purchase and a longer pause between purchases are different situations. These are possible planning scenarios for your shop, not additional measures claimed for Seaside64 after the fact. The Welcome flow guide and the Segmentation guide help to distinguish between them.
For recurring newsletters, additional topics and material are required. The Topic plan for newsletters links occasion, recipients, content and landing page. The Checklist for comparing quotes.
